“I am continually drawn back to the Himalayan ranges, being surrounded in their majesty projects a feeling of peace and steadiness. The sages, mystics and rishi’s of ancient and now travel to the mountains to seek further wisdom and knowledge and there is something just so uniquely special about being in this sacred landscape.”

“Sukha Yoga retreats are nothing short of magic. Every detail is so carefully orchestrated to create a beautifully balanced experience. I have never travelled so smoothly and felt so taken care of! Plenty of free time was provided in addition to some wonderful activities and stellar yoga. It has been almost a month yet I still feel incredibly uplifted and inspired from our journey. Thank you for everything Lara.”

“I always wanted to go on one of Lara’s retreats, because I knew her as Miss India. India is ingrained deep in her soul and you can see the way Lara’s eyes light up when she speaks of it.  Well… now you can see that look in my eye when I talk of India!  It was my first time and it entirely exceeded my expectations.  The accommodation was gorgeous, set on a peninsula looking at the mountains and surrounded by beautiful nature.  The meals were fresh and organic (and in abundance!).  Lara crafted an ideal experience for us in the yoga sessions, yoga nidra, meditation, activities and rich storytelling – which is an incredible way to convey philosophy in a lighthearted manner that is just wonderful to listen to.  She gave her entire heart and cultivated the setting for a deep and beautiful soul shift.  She also drew the most wonderful of participants to the retreat and we all felt like family straight away.  There’s a reason Lara’s retreats sell out quickly…. She has a gift to helping us shift to a better place mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Thank you Lara”.

I could not praise Lara at Sukha Yoga enough for organising such a fabulous trip to India! This trip was more than just a Yoga retreat, the holiday included a visit to Dharamshala,Mcleod Ganj, situated in the dramatic scenery of the  north  and home to the Dalai Lama, where we visited the Tibetan monks, walked up waterfalls, met  with up our fellow yogi's and generally acclimatized to life in India. After which we travelled by road to the retreat, Basunti, an oasis nestled on a peninsula, surrounded by lakes and steeped in history. Our days were perfectly balanced with our yoga practice, local walks, massage and other gentle activities, all of which were completely optional. Not to mention the delicious meals prepared by David and his team, which were a definite highlight! Lara and the Basunti team helped make us feel completely relaxed and at home. Lara has a wealth of knowledge of the history and mythology of the area which she shared in a warm and inclusive way in her story telling.  We ended the trip with a group visit to Amritsar and The Golden Temple, which has to be seen to be believed! The whole trip was so well planned out and run, Lara supported each and every one of us along the way, from all the pre-trip preparations to recommendations for any onward travel, all of which was so reassuring when you are a first time visitor.  If you are in two minds, all I can say is take the plunge, you will not regret it for a minute!

What an amazing retreat, thank you for your kindness, warmth,  care and incredible patience. For sharing your stories….(to lie there and listen was magical),Vedic chanting and your gentle guidance of yoga and meditation. India is always a different journey and one that keeps giving. I left feeling at peace and my love of yoga rekindled remembering how much joy the practice brings to my life. So a huge thank you for sharing this very special part of India with us all.
